Deliver substance use services at designated shelter sites for individuals experiencing homelessness. The majority of individuals served will have co-occurring mental health conditions of varying degrees of severity, and the goal is for the services provided to be co-occurring capable as delineated in the most recent version of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Patient Placement Criteria (4th Edition, 2023; Chapter 12). This initiative aims to improve access to co-occurring capable substance use disorder (SUD) treatment interventions including motivational enhancement, overdose prevention, Medications for Addiction treatment, facilitating linkage to Mental Health (MH) services when indicated, improving functioning within the shelter environment, and supporting eventual engagement and retention in housing.
