A. Provide security at City-wide events, programs, facilities and trails, including security for City property, event areas and security support to staff in situations that involve securing an area. Examples of City-wide events, programs, facilities and trails may include: large-scale public events such as 4th of July in City parks, parades on City streets, concerts at City venues, art exhibits, fairs, classes/programs and daily regular and/or after-hours coverage at City parks, facilities and trails. i. Guards must be trained, unarmed and remain onsite for the duration of duty hours; ii. Guards to be a certified professional equipped with uniforms that foster a polished, identifiable, and recognizable appearance; iii. Guards shall be punctual and check-in with City staff upon arrival and clarify expectations or services; iv. Actively patrol on foot indoors and outdoors throughout the duty hours to maintain a safe environment; includes upholding all facility/park/trail rules; v. All matters shall be handled in a professional manner and shall include submitting a written report of any incidents; vi. Security coverage must be continuous and uninterrupted during the established duty hours; vii. Guards are to remain awake and alert at all times; viii. Schedule shall be on an as needed basis. Guards must be available seven (7) days a week, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day; ix. Ability to be familiar with and implement emergency procedures; x. Must abide by all applicable California Bureau of Security & Investigative Services requirements; xi. Security company must be licensed, registered and bonded; xii. All guards must hold a valid California drivers license xiii. All guards must have a competent command of the English language and be efficient in communicating with the public. B. The City would prefer a Contractor with a minimum of five (5) years of performing service requested. Please include a list of references that can attest to your ability to perform.
