The project aims to implement critical security enhancements at the Sacramento Valley Station, as identified in a security risk assessment conducted by Corporate Security, to safeguard Amtrak passengers and employees from potential threats. The work, to be completed by a contractor, includes applying blast mitigation film to the ticketing windows, ticketing window doors, and exterior windows along the Amtrak administration offices. Also included is the installation and implementation of a new Access Control System (ACS) including upgrading outdated card readers with HID card readers (4) and associated door hardware; adding an access control panel in the north tunnel electrical room; and installing Network Enclosure Tamper Switches (6). The work also includes installation and implementation of a Video Surveillance System (VSS) providing a total of 99 surveillance cameras intended to upgrade all video surveillance cameras and network devices on the platform, in tunnel areas, and within surrounding canopy areas; while adding and upgrading the video surveillance viewing station in the ticketing office; replacing and upgrading video surveillance above the station lobby doors; and installing bollard protection at both the north entrance to the station lobby and the canopy entrance.
