The work to be done consists of, but is not limited to: a) All work requires coordination with City and private property owners. b) Point (spot) repairs of sanitary sewer line at various locations. c) Pipe-bursting (Method “B”) of approximately 2,567 linear feet of sanitary sewer pipe ranging in size from 6-inch to 20-inch diameter. d) Traditional Open-trench (Method “C”) replacement of approximately 2,108 linear feet of sanitary sewer pipe ranging in size from 6-inch to 24-inch diameter. e) Reconstruction of all lower laterals, including lateral connections to the main and two-way cleanouts, approximately 2,250 linear feet f) Remove existing maintenance holes and construction of new maintenance holes, including excavation, lining, and related work. Rehabilitation of existing maintenance holes including excavation, lining, and related work. g) Pressure testing sewer mains for leaks, including all lower laterals, locating leaks and perform point (spot) repairs. h) Abandonment of sanitary sewer mains and structures, as indicated in plans. i) All work shall be in accordance with the Public Right-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines or PROWAG, latest edition, and to the satisfaction of the engineer. j) Preparing and implementing bypass plans to facilitate the work and to maintain uninterrupted sewer service during construction. k) Cold planning existing asphalt and hot mix asphalt paving. l) Traffic Control Plans (TCP) shall prioritize pedestrian and bicycle safety and access, and bus facilities over vehicular traffic, in alignment with the City of Berkeley’s policies. TCP shall follow guidance and intent provided in Appendix 10.
