Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall be an organization that employs licensed California attorneys, paralegals, and advocates to provide Supplemental Security Income (SSI)/Long Term Disability Benefit Advocacy Services for consumers of the following programs: General Relief (GR); and Cash Assistance Program for Indigents (CAPI); Housing and Disability Advocacy Program (HDAP) as well as to adults 18 and over, with serious mental illness, who are consumers of the San Diego County Behavioral Health Services (BHS) Clubhouse programs, through a collaborative effort with the Contractor and designated SSI Advocates located within the clubhouses. In addition, the Contractor shall provide SSI advocacy services for children under age 18 with an emphasis on those who are Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED) and/or served in the BHS Children’s System of Care who meet SSI eligibility criteria. The Contractor shall be responsible for the submission of SSI applications to the Social Security Administration that the Contractor deems are complete; and provide further follow-up as needed.
