Guards must be uniformed, unarmed, possess valid California guard card, possess valid California driver s license, be current on medical precautions including MMR, TB, Hepatitis, seasonal flu and H1N1 flu vaccinations. Guards may be required to wear a mask or respirator, such as surgical mask, N-95 respirator or half face air purifying respirator similar to North 5500 for their protection. Guards must have the ability to sustain walking patrols, ability to stand at fixed post for long periods while identifying those with legitimate business. Guards must be able to provide a communication device, speak English, possess oral communication skills and be able to convey clear and concise information. Guards will make all efforts to protect personal and confidential or privileged information concerning the academic health center and health system's patients and the respective health care practices of those entities. Guards will abide by applicable state and federal laws, including HIPAA privacy and security regulations
