Specifications include, but are not limited to: Purpose of Request for Proposal is for UCDMC to get pricing and program details for vendor’s capabilities on performing pathogen water testing program for multiple buildings on the Sacramento campus; Provides identification, enumeration, and serotyping of viable Legionella pneumophila bacteria. Analysis includes identification of Legionella pneumophila Serogroup 1, Serogroups 2-15, and non-pneumophila species. For domestic water and humidification water samples, the minimum detection limit (MDL) is 0.4 colony forming unit per milliliter (cfu/ml), with the upper limit of 300 cfu/ml. For industrial water samples (cooling towers, car wash reclamation water, decorative fountains), the MDL is 10 cfu/ml, with the upper limit of 3,000 cfu/ml. For domestic water samples that test >300 cfu/ml, the samples can be further analyzed to quantify the count up to 3,000 cfu/ml.
