Resilient Playground Matting Repair, Replacement, and Installation Services (Districtwide) A. DETAILED SCOPE OF WORK 1. Currently there are three manufacturers listed in the LAUSD specifications who produce surfacing systems that meet the district’s specifications: PlayMatta, SofSurfaces, and TotTurf Resilient Playground Protective Surfacing Systems must be installed by Manufacturer-Authorized Installers. Authorization must be maintained for the life of the contract. 2. For each worker performing welding, The Contractor must provide proof of welder(s) qualifications/ certificate(s) accompanied with a picture identification to the TOPO initiator prior to starting work. 3. Certified Playground Safety Inspector(s) (“CPSI(s)”) must possess a current CPSI certification. Provide a copy of certificate to TOPO Initiator prior to starting work. 4. Playground protective surfacing systems, chemicals and/or adhesive products shall be screened and determined approved for use at LAUSD sites by the LAUSD Office of Environmental Health and Safety (“OEHS”) prior to bring these chemical and/or adhesive products to any LAUSD sites. 5. The end-user of the protective surfacing system shall only have exposure to surfacing composed of virgin material. 6. New installations, repairs and/or replacements to existing playground protective surfacing systems shall be made as per manufacturer’s specifications. If District specifications exceed that of the manufacturer, the most stringent specifications shall be adhered to.
