Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Truckee Donner Public Utility District (hereafter the District or TDPUD) seeks to evaluate the opportunity for a long-term partnership with a qualified and willing Internet Service Provider (ISP) to construct and operate a last-mile broadband network within the District’s service area. The District is exploring options to potentially enhance broadband infrastructure and competition through the deployment of wireline and/or wireless technology for the benefit of residential and commercial entities within the District’s service area. As such, this Request for Information (RFI) is part of a broader planning initiative by the District to evaluate the financial and technical feasibility of deploying broadband technology under a service provider partnership. The purpose of this RFI is to receive proposals from potential ISP partners (Proposers) who have the technical expertise, resources, and capacity to design, construct and operate broadband infrastructure and provide end user broadband services that will meet or exceed capacity and network performance standards as identified in this RFI. All interested firms must provide a comprehensive proposal detailing their qualifications and a proposed approach to reach these objectives, meeting all required elements listed in this RFI. The provider(s) with responses judged to be of the highest quality may be invited to make a formal presentation to the District. The District may negotiate with the entity ultimately identified as the recommended provider.
