The City of Redwood City is soliciting proposals for professional lagoon management and environmental consulting services to maintain the ambient water quality and beneficial uses of the Redwood Shores Lagoon. The qualified firm must be experienced in all aspects of lagoon maintenance, including the control of nuisance aquatic plant growth through chemical application and mechanical harvesting, and understand the importance of maintaining the aesthetic appearance and quality of the lagoon system and surrounding shoreline. The firm must possess and maintain the necessary license(s) from the California Department of Pesticides Regulation required to apply aquatic pesticides. The firm’s approach to maintaining the Redwood Shores Lagoon must be consistent with and adhere to the City’s draft Lagoon Management Plan: Redwood Shores Lagoon, July 2003, and any future updates, where appropriate. This is a Public Works Project under Prevailing Wage Law. Where applicable, Contractor and all subcontractors shall pay their employees performing labor under this Contract, salaries or wages at least equal to the general prevailing wage rates in effect at the time this RFP is issued, as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of California, for the particular crafts, classifications or types of workers employed on the project and shall comply with all applicable requirements of California Labor Code §§1720 et seq.
