This Scope of Work (SOW) is for the procurement of one (1) new-condition Tamping Machine or NCTD approved equal. See the table below for machine specifications. The Tamper shall be capable of tamping concrete or wood ties on tangent track and curves with at least 400ft. radius and up to 7 in of super elevation. The machine shall be capable of tamping a complete switch with concrete or wood ties. The machine will be able to track travel through curves with at least 230ft. radius. The software will be graphics based, capable of multitasking, and simultaneously responding to operator commands and system inputs to fully control the machine cycle during the lifting, lining and tamping process. The system will immediately provide alarm messages if part of the machine exceeds predefined limits or if electrical problems are encountered.
