District is requesting ready-to-eat hot suppers in suitable transportation units. There will be no holding or reheating units at the school sites. Packaged suppers to include utensils and napkins. Bottled water to be provided as a beverage. Proposed food items submitted for the RFQ must meet the standards and meal patterns of the Child and Adult Care Food Program with a minimum of 4 components to be deemed nutritious and balanced. At a minimum, the 4 components must include: meat/meat alternate (2 oz. cooked), grain (1/2 cup or one serving), vegetable (1/2 cup) and fruit (1/2 cup), (fruit may be substituted by a vegetable; two different kinds of vegetables must be served). NOTE: District is required to provide dietary accommodations for children with special dietary needs. Vendor shall offer dietary suppers at no additional cost. • Age Group Served: Kindergarten though 8th grade • Quantity: Approximately 2,000 suppers to be delivered to an estimated 50 sites (District map attached) • Delivery Time: Suppers to be delivered between 3:00 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.
