The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) is seeking appraisal firms to make an appraisal of properties required for public projects and be familiar with recognized appraisal laws, methodologies, and practices, as set forth in the California Eminent Domain Law, Code of Civil Procedure Sections 1230.010 et seq., relative to the acquisition of property by a public agency for a public purpose. Personnel selected to appraise proposed property acquisitions shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience in the appraisal of real estate for public acquisition within the State of California. This shall include the appraisal of partial acquisitions as well as entire properties. The appraiser must have an active California Certified General Appraiser License. In addition to the license, additional certifications such as the Senior Right of Way Agent (SRWA) and the Member Appraisal Institute (MAI) are also preferred. Evidence of this experience should be shown on the resume to satisfy the requirements. SMUD Representative will notify the contractor, in writing, of the specific Properties/Parcels requiring Appraisal Services in accordance with the scope of services.
