Introduction
The Department of the Interior, United States Geological Survey (USGS), is conducting market research to identify qualified vendors capable of providing professional photography and videography services in remote marine science environments.
This RFI is issued under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) for market research purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for proposals or quotes.
Responses should be concise, relevant, and directly address the qualifications and capabilities outlined in this notice. Submissions should avoid general marketing materials unrelated to the specific scope of work described. Responses that fail to address the technical requirements or do not adhere to specified guidelines will not be considered.
Scope of Work Summary
Contractor will create scientific documentation and promotional material for the Aleutians Cruise, sailing from June 10 to July 4, 2025. Materials will include scientific images of samples, content for web and social media, and one (1) 4 to 6 minute overview video of the mission science objectives.
Contractor required expertise / skills:
Demonstrated ability in marine science documentation.
Specialized experience in remote marine environments.
Technological proficiency to produce deliverables.
Ability to produce scientifically accurate content under tight timelines.
Ability to produce scientific images of samples and content for web and social media.
Ability to record documentary-style footage, including interviews with scientists, local representatives, and the RV Atlantis team, as well as outreach events.
Ability to coordinate with USGS scientists and the onboard OER web coordinator for stills and video production.
Ability to produce one 4 to 6-minute overview video in Quicktime ProRes format (or an alternative if specified), including one rough cut for review and one final video with agreed-upon changes.
Contractor must provide all necessary equipment (video/still cameras, drones, 360 video cameras, audio devices, production software) and supplemental materials (music, voice-overs).

Vendors are requested to submit a brief capability statement addressing the following:
Experience in remote marine environments producing various media at sea.
Experience with marine science documentation at sea.
Description of equipment available to produce deliverables as well as technological proficiencies.
Staff qualifications, including previous projects of a similar nature.
Past performance on similar photography and videography projects.
Business size and status under NAICS 541922, UEI number, and SAM.gov registration status.
