The 60th Maintenance Group (MXG) at Travis AFB requires comprehensive Portable Fire Extinguisher Maintenance, which is essential to ensure the continuous serviceability and operational readiness of all portable and wheeled fire extinguishers. This critically includes the 150 lb Halon 1211 wheeled units on the flight line and addresses Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) Halon Extinguishers. To fulfill this critical requirement, the Performance Work Statement (PWS) mandates a structured program of services, including bi-weekly inspections specifically for the 150 lb Halon 1211 wheeled units, alongside annual inspections, recharging, corrective maintenance, and hydrostatic testing for all applicable extinguishers. All work must strictly adhere to the latest National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 10 and be performed by personnel licensed by the State of California Fire Marshal's Office.
