Services to include but not limited to on-call service request, hydrostatic testing, replacement and repairs of fire extinguishers. The City reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of extinguishers that it actually has and requires maintenance on. Vendor shall provide all labor, supervision, parts, tools, equipment, transportation and all effort necessary to perform said services in accordance with all the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), ANS/UL current standards rules and regulations of the State of California Fire Marshal’s Office, local codes, standard and the specifications herein. Vendor shall inspect and test fire extinguishers following manufacturers’ procedures to ensure the proper, efficient, reliable and safe performance of all equipment at all times. Inspection of all fire extinguishers shall be done in compliance with all applicable statutory requirements. Fire extinguishers shall be serviced on-site on an annual basis or as requested by City personnel. This service includes tagging all units or punch existing units at various departments and locations. Vendor shall be responsible for repairing, re-hanging and replacing units upon request from the City personnel. If fire extinguisher is dry chemical ABC then the multipurpose powder material used shall comply and be certified with formulation requirements. Service shall be performed during normal business hours on City approved schedules. All inspection and testing shall be coordinated with the appropriate City personnel. The City may exercise the option of witnessing any tests performed and/or randomly selecting fire extinguisher for inspection. Service maintenance of fire extinguishers on an as needed basis may occur through the year as designated by the City. Fire extinguishers shall comply with the rules and regulations of the State of California Fire Marshal’s office. Optional mounting provisions of the brace, latch lock and/or clamp style shall be supplied with each extinguisher to meet mounting requirements. Extinguishers shall have fixed discharge squeeze handle in assembly to assure no movement or rotating motion to the handle. An approved standard service tag meeting the specifications of the State of California Fire Marshal’s Rules and Regulations shall be attached to each fire extinguisher serviced and delivered. Replacement parts shall be the manufacturer's recommended parts and shall be new and meeting the original manufacturer (OEM) specification or parts of equal quality.
