Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Pasadena Police Department has approximately 370 sworn and civilian employees. There are different ranks within the department. Each chest badge or flat badge will be labeled to identify the rank. Each badge will be numbered either in the front or the back of the badge. The ranks are as follows: Chief, Deputy Chief, Commander, Lieutenant, Sergeant, Corporal, Police Officer, Reserve Officer, Dispatcher, Community Services Officer, Park Safety Specialist, Executive Administrator, Administrator and Supervisor. On occasion the department may create a new officer rank; which means a one-time tooling and setup charge to have the badges made. The flat badges are to be put inside a black leather slimline notebook style wallet. Please include the cost for the wallet with the flat badge costs. Vendor must be able to refurbish, repair, create new badges and have the ability to put the badges into Lucite. The work may require changing the ribbon on the badge, changing the badge number or repainting the ribbons. Please take this into consideration when placing your bid. On occasion retired officers request to purchase a chest badge and have it put into Lucite or they may request to purchase a “Retired” rank flat badge (inside a black leather slimline notebook style wallet). When this happens; the retired officer is responsible for all costs. The selected vendor must meet the department’s standard of quality based on the specifications attached (see documents tab). The bidding price shall include any die charges if applicable. If the vendor needs to see a sample of the badges, they may do so by request to Laura Morris at LMorris@cityofpasadena.net.
