The Alameda County Public Works Agency (PWA) performs building inspection services for Private Developments within the unincorporated areas of Alameda County. PWA also provides plan check and inspection services for the Alameda County General Services Agency (GSA) which manages and oversees the delivery of Capital and Non-Capital Projects for County-owned and County-leased buildings in the County’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). GSA’s portfolio of projects includes office and administrative facilities, court buildings, community centers, fire stations, hospital and health care facilities, jail facilities, training facilities, supportive services and transitional housing, parking facilities, and public spaces. GSA is also responsible for overseeing and monitoring compliance with all local, State, and Federal funding sources, and all applicable codes, regulations, and permitting requirements. Contractors will augment building plan review and inspection services for permitted Private Development projects and Capital and Non-Capital Projects implemented by GSA. Private Development projects include, but are not limited to, the following categories: Electrical Permits; Mechanical Permits; Multifamily Homes; Plumbing Permits; Single Family Homes; and Tract Developments. GSA Capital and Non-Capital Projects include but are not limited to the following categories (new construction and renovation projects): American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance projects; Community Facilities; Fire Stations; Hospital and Health Care Facilities; Jail Facilities; Major Tenant Improvements; Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) Infrastructure Upgrade; Parking Garage Structures; Supportive Services Facilities and Transitional Housing; Surface Parking Lots; and Training Facilities.
