Specifications include, but are not limited to: Grazing Objectives: The purpose of this Permit is for the removal of excess vegetation (grazing) needed on approximately 3,303 acres (SWA Parcel 4, hereafter referred to as the Premises) to provide fire control and help reduce invasive species. Grazing will reduce dense annual grass ground cover, provide suitable wildlife feeding areas, and promote the growth of desirable plant species. Livestock grazing occurs in grassland and vernal pool areas and is used as a management tool to promote species diversity, while providing the added benefit of reducing the risk of catastrophic wildfires with the reduction of non-native grasses. Seasonal grazing permitted during the winter and early spring months shall allow the CDFW to meet these goals.
