The developer will finance, build, own, operate and maintain the Project on UC Berkeley land under a long-term ground lease. Through this solicitation process, UC Berkeley intends to select a developer and its development team, including its expected property management company and potential social service partnerships. The developer will select a design team at a subsequent time, subject to UC Berkeley approval. UC Berkeley reserves the right to approve or reject all members of the development team. The selected developer and/or members of the development team must demonstrate experience working in the San Francisco Bay Area, including but not limited to, having experience with the public engagement process in the City of Berkeley or surrounding communities and a deep understanding and respect for the cultural and historical importance of this Site.
