Restriping Notes All restriping to be done with paint, minimum of two coats. Paint shall be applied on clean surface, free of debris. Street sweeping required. Contractor is responsible for street sweeping all work areas as needed. Contractor to remove and/or remedy any and all paint spills within 24 hours of notification. Contractor shall use the City of Arroyo Grande templates if applicable for painting pavement markers. Contractor will maintain and return the City’s templates in good working condition. Match existing striping per the Restriping Exhibit A when possible or per MUTCD standards if striping too faded to match. Refer to Caltrans Pavement Markers and Traffic Lines Typical Details A20A – A20B for Restriping near Hwy. 101 in Caltrans right-of-way (Sheet 9 Brisco Road and Sheet 11 Oak Park Blvd. and El Camino Real). Typical line width in this right-of-way is 6” wide but if existing is 4” wide, then match existing. Normal lines are 4” wide on City streets. Double Yellow Line and/or Solid Yellow Line with Dashed Yellow Line to match existing. Typical is 4” wide with 3” gap as needed. Spacing per existing or MUTCD standards. Dashed white line, minimum 4” or 6” width. Space to match existing, or MUTCD standards. Only repaint crosswalk bars as shown on Exhibit. If unable to match or for new crosswalk striping (Sheet 6 Farroll & Bakeman), space bars 4’ on center. Bars to be minimum 2’ wide by 10’ long. Paint over faded existing lines and ensure it matches at both ends. 12 inch maximum overlap. Do NOT remove any raised Retroreflective Markers or Bot Dots. Use existing raised markers for reference. Paint over existing raised markers or bot dots as needed. Start and end points shown on the Restriping Exhibit are interchangeable. Contractor may choose best starting point.
