A. Contractor shall coordinate with Caltrans Contract Manager on a work schedule. B. Contractor shall paint the interior of Caltrans Inland Traffic Management Center. The Interior work shall include, but not be limited to walls, trimmings, moldings, doors, casings, windows, jams, covings, bases, and ceilings as directed by Caltrans Contract Manager. Interior work includes all necessary minor patch and repair work, scraping, and sanding, miscellaneous caulking, nail hole filling, minor spackling. C. All necessary materials used in connection with services shall be purchased from major manufacturers specializing in the production and sale of paint and paint products such as Dunn Edwards, Sinclair, and Benjamin Moore, or equivalent. D. All interior walls, ceilings, flatwork, and trim shall be painted with semi-gloss latex enamel. Prime coat for interior walls shall be acrylic base vinyl and a different color that is sufficient to detect adequate coverage by the finish coats. E. All windows and doors shall be freely operable upon completion of work and all windows’ glass shall be free of paint. F. Hardware,hardware accessories, plates, lighting fixtures, and similar items in place prior to painting shall be removed or loosened as required for painting operations and shall be replaced upon completion of work. G. Painting shall be done only when surfaces are dry and weather conditions are satisfactory. H. The cost of moving and relocation of any and/or all furniture shall be included in price quote proposal. I. Work performed by Contractor shall include preparation of premises for necessary safety precautions and final clean-up. J. Included Work – work includes complete preparation and finishing of all surfaces as described by Caltrans Contract Manager in each Service Request, except surfaces specifically excluded. K. Excluded Work – surfaces not to be painted unless otherwise specified by Caltrans Contract Manager in the Service Request: 1) Aluminum, copper,brass, stainless steel,nickel, or chrome 2) Finish hardware 3) Acoustical ceilings 4) Flooring 5) Electrical fixtures and receptacles 6) Exterior pavement 7) Bathroom fixtures and accessories 8) Items with complete factory finish, as appropriate to industry standard 9) Code required labels, equipment identification, and performance rating plates L. Delivery, Storage, and Applications 1) Temperature and Humidity – Paint, stain, putty, and other temperature-sensitive material shall be delivered to the work site in sealed, labeled containers and stored in a wellventilated area at an ambient air temperature of not less than 45 degrees Fahrenheit unless otherwise allowed by the manufacturer. Ensure surface temperatures fall within recommendations of the material manufacturer. Ensure new patch, putty, plaster, and other such materials are sufficiently dried and cured for painting. Contractor shall not apply materials during fog, rain, mist, or when inclement weather is expected within the dry time specified by manufacturer. 2) Ventilation – Continuous ventilation shall be provided during application of the coatings. 3) Waste – Rags, waste, and combustible rubbish shall be stored in an approved metals containers and removed daily from the work site. All precautions shall be taken to prevent fire. Clean-up and disposal of all materials shall comply with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, and codes.
