In general, the work consists of providing approximately 462 LF of new 12” PVC gravity sewer in S. Pine Street, between W. Jones Street and W. Boone Street. The new 12” PVC sewer replaces an existing 6” gravity sewer. At W. Boone Street, the new gravity sewer will cross beneath the existing Santa Maria Valley Railroad tracks and will be placed within a new 20” steel casing underneath the tracks. The existing sewer manhole at W. Boone/S. Pine Street will be abandoned, and the two sewers in W. Boone Street will tie-in to the new sewer manhole at this intersection. Also at W. Boone Street, an existing 10” ACP water main will be replaced with a new 10” ductile iron water main, to achieve sanitary separation between the east-west existing gravity sewers in W. Boone Street, and the new water main, which is required to be re-constructed new in order to install the new 60” diameter manhole in this intersection.
