1. Contractor shall accomplish a thorough inspection of all buildings located at the Home before initiating pest control operations. This inspection shall be completed during the first week of the contract period. This inspection shall form the basis from which the Contractor shall prepare a written comprehensive IPMP. 2. Contractor shall provide the IPMP to the CalVet Contract Manager for approval and follow the plan throughout the term of the contract. At a minimum, the IPMP shall contain, but not be limited to, the following: a. Contractor’s pest management philosophy b. Contractor’s goals and objectives for pest control at the Home. c. Contractor’s practicum for integrated pest management implementation. d. Identification and location of pest populations. e. Levels of pest infestations. f. How infestations shall be monitored. g. Amounts and names of chemical controls proposed. h. Types and amounts of baits, traps, or other measures proposed. i. The frequencies of chemical applications. j. Non-chemical controls proposed. k. Identification of site-specific problems and solutions. l. Monitoring measures. m. Methods for evaluating the effectiveness of the IPMP. C. Pest Control Utilization Action Plan (PCUAP). Contractor shall prepare a written PCUAP, especially for ants for the approval of the CalVet Contract Manager. Included in the plan shall be the necessary personnel, materials, and equipment required to eliminate vermin and insects such as, but not limited to rats, mice, ants, fleas, roaches, spiders, etc., throughout the Home, including all buildings, structures, and grounds adjacent thereto. The plan, as provided by the Contractor, shall be tailored to address the pests specifically located in the high desert environment. D. Contractor shall provide all necessary personnel, materials, and equipment to control vertebrate and invertebrate pests, excluding termites, in, under, through, and adjacent to all buildings, structures, and landscaping located on Home property. This includes perimeter spraying, baiting, monitoring of areas adjacent to buildings and structures, and the mechanical removal of spiders’ webs where practical. E. Contractor shall schedule treatment of areas at a frequency determined by the CalVet Contract Manager and/or by the chemicals used to provide the maximum level of protection against any infestation.
