The scope of work consists of two aspects, planned (non-emergency) work and emergency response services. Emergency response addresses unplanned events that affect health, safety and property damage. Planned activities are scheduled in advance. All precautions shall be taken for health, safety and property damage in responding to both planned non-emergency work and emergency work around the clock under this request for services. Planned non-emergency services: Planned non-emergency services are related to water/stormwater system improvements that require a short timeline. These services occur during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm and will be scheduled in advance, with a minimum of 5 business days’ notice to respond. Services are paid on a time and material (T&M) basis and will require a written quote in advance. All traffic controls, equipment and materials will be provided by the contractor. Documentation of work by the selected contractor is required. This documentation includes time, labor, equipment and materials, changing site conditions contributing to delays and conflicts with other utilities Contractor is responsible, but not limited to the following tasks: • Water/Stormwater main replacement • Abandonments • Service line replacement • Service laterals • Installing new fire hydrants • Hydrant replacement • Valve replacement • Outfall replacement • Catch basin repair • Grate replacement • Manhole repairs • Street, sidewalk, curb, concrete and gutter restoration; Emergency services: Emergency services response may occur at any time including nights, weekends and holidays. A two-hour response time is required with possible exceptions to be determined by City staff. Emergency response is on a T&M basis and will not require a written quote in advance. All traffic controls, equipment and materials will be provided by the contractor. Contractor may be required to contact USA North 811 to locate utility lines before work begins. Documentation of work by the selected contractor is required. This documentation includes time, labor, equipment and materials, changing site conditions contributing to delays and conflicts with other utilities. Contractor is responsible, but not limited to the following tasks: • Water/Stormwater main breaks and strikes • Water/Stormwater connection leaks • Fire hydrant strikes • Broken water main valves
