The work will generally consist of professional structural and architectural services on an asneeded basis to support routine Public Works projects, including but not limited to: a. Structural: - Perform seismic and professional structural engineering inspections, evaluations, engineering calculations, and reviews of specifications and construction documents - Perform independent third-party structural engineering peer reviews of retaining walls, buildings, facilities, pole foundation, structures, any other structural facilities - Evaluate structures and provide structural design and/or construction services for construction, repair, and replacement of structures - Provide full range of professional structural engineering services including conducting preliminary studies, overseeing structural testing, providing preliminary designs, developing final plans, specifications, and estimate (PS&E) - Review construction bids - Review and respond to Building Department plan check review comments for building permit applications b. Architectural - Prepare architectural design and drafting of City capital projects - Prepare condition assessments for historical buildings and structures: o Identify requirements and recommendations related to current codes o Identify issues related to accessibility o Identify required improvements o Review conditions of existing systems and adequacy for current and proposed future use - Prepare drawings and specifications for Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents - Provide review, guidance, and design services for projects requiring Division of the State Architect (DSA) oversight to ensure compliance with structural, accessibility, and fire and life safety codes - Prepare 3D renderings, sketches, and exhibits, upon request for presentations - Review and respond to architectural RFIs and Submittals during bidding and construction - Provide construction support including but not limited to reviewing construction bids and QBDs, and responding to RFIs, Submittals, and As-builts
