The purpose of this request is to establish an open PO for maintenance and repair of the Fire Behavior Lab trailer, Grain Bid Rescue trailer, and multiple other training props on campus including: live burn racks, car fire prop, all propane for live fire training props, forcible entry door simulators, and other extensive fabrication work that is beyond the scope of our in-house capabilities. Regular preventative maintenance and repairs are necessary to keep equipment functioning and maximize the service life of each piece of equipment which demonstrates good stewardship of public resources. When these pieces of equipment break down, the risk of having to cancel training classes is high. Having an open PO will expedite the repair process and enable us to return the training equipment to service in a timely manner in order to meet our mission to train Ohio's first responders. Per NFPA standards, we are required to have a welder trained in how steel warps at extremely high temperatures.
