The City of Hayward Public Works – Engineering & Transportation manages a variety of City capital improvement projects and is responsible for delivering projects that include new construction, rehabilitation, upgrading, repairing, expanding, demolition, and modifying various City-owned and operated facilities. This department also oversees the construction of privately owned commercial and residential developments. It is the intent of the City to establish on-call public works material testing and special inspection service contracts to provide professional services on various projects. Project definition will take place at or around the time of project assignment. The City may select more than one firm or may not select any firm, dependent on the response received to this RFP. The City will not be under any obligation to award any contracts or to use any “On-Call” agreement. The City reserves the right to award any number of contracts it deems necessary. No minimum amount of overall work is guaranteed to any firm awarded a contract. This is not an exclusive agreement and the City shall have the right to use other public works material testing and special inspection services based on specific project and staffing needs.
