1. Providing staff and services on an on-call, as-needed basis. 2. Conduct assessments of existing systems, including evaluations of energy efficiency opportunities. 3. Provide mechanical engineering design and/or construction management services for repair, replacement and new installation of County infrastructures. 4. Provide the full range of engineering services including preliminary studies reviewing of existing drawings and site conditions, inventory of existing systems, public outreach, plans and specifications, construction estimates, permit acquisition, and other professional mechanical engineering services. The plans, specifications, and bid documents must be stamped by a professional engineer currently registered in the State of California. 5. Provide in-house personnel or sub-consultants for minor civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation and controls, asbestos and lead abatement, landscaping architecture, and LEED certification as needed to complete work. 6. During construction, make on-site visits; review material submittals, shop drawings and test results; respond to RFIs; draft change orders; and review pay estimates. 7. Typical projects may include: a. HVAC analysis, renovations, upgrades, replacement and new installations. i. Control systems. ii. Structural analysis and renovations iii. Plumbing analysis and renovations iv. Electrical analysis and renovations v. Testing and balancing vi. Provide commissioning services to include developing and coordinating the execution of a testing plan, observation and documentation performance of improvements, system integration and functionality in accordance with documented design. This shall include testing and observing the operation and function of all components and controls involved in the new systems, including an assessment of responsible parties for correcting any problems and errors in the system, and providing a final commissioning report. b. Sewer, storm drain, and lagoon pump station upgrades, replacements or new installations c. Boilers, heaters pumps, valves, appurtenances and lines used in the distribution of steam and heated or processed water. d. Pumps handling brines or other secondary refrigerating liquids, including water, together with all valves, appurtenances and lines used in the system. e. Air compressors, together with distribution lines and all valves and devices for air control, including air dryer and filtering and separating systems f. All natural and manufactured gas distribution lines, including all valves and devices for their distribution, regulation and control. g. Building automation systems for HVAC, lighting and other controlled mediums, including consoles, data gathering panels, remote sensors and indicating devices.
