To build a children’s Native American themed play area. The address of the project site is 1400 Front Street (APN 0060136025000). It is located on the parcel where the Old Sacramento Schoolhouse was formerly situated. The City collaborated with the Shingle Springs Band of MiWok Indians and Wilton Rancheria to design a children’s play area with a “riparian corridor” theme. The project would include a fence around the entire play area with decorative concrete pavement and poured in place rubber surfacing. The playground equipment includes a large play structure, three tule huts, a tule boat and a grinding stone interactive piece. A custom archway will also be installed at the entrance. The Contractor will be responsible to receive, store and install the City purchased playground equipment. The site will also have benches and signage. In addition, the project will include a trash enclosure structure to be used by the restaurant adjacent to the site. This structure will not be accessible to the public. The site also includes lighting fixtures.
