Project Background The scope of work includes the following: Design and engineering of the awning structure to meet the project requirements. Selection of appropriate roofing material for the awning that is durable, energy efficient, and aesthetically pleasing. Masonry work for the awning support columns and base, which must be designed and constructed to comply with ADA regulations and standards. Compliance with all applicable building codes and regulations. The designer will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project, including procurement, construction, and installation of the awning. The designer will also be required to provide a warranty for the work performed and materials used. 1 “ square tubing, made from aluminum, steel, or stainless is material required. The project timeline and budget will be established during the design phase and must be adhered to throughout the project. The designer will be required to submit progress reports and updates to the project manager on a regular basis. Upon completion of the project, the designer will be required to provide all necessary documentation and records, including as-built drawings, permits, and warranties. Note: This scope of work is subject to change based on project requirements and specifications. Demolition and Removal 1. Maintain structures to be retained. Repair, at the contractor’s own expense, damage resulting from operations to remaining paving and structures Items and materials demolished shall be promptly disposed of off-site, in accordance with all applicable laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations. Mobilization 1. Contractor shall notify Project Manager by email at least 10 working days before performing any work on Amtrak Property. 2. Set up work area with delineators, caution tape, fencing, ramps, safety signs and barricades necessary to protect pedestrians, railroad employees and railroad operations. 3. Set up barricades and fencing in designated areas in order for materials storage and dumpsters to be used for debris from project. 4. Contractor shall not block access roads or interfere with the operations of the railroad, vehicular or pedestrian traffic, including but not limited to: train and engine movements, passenger boarding, disembarking, pedestrian crossing access, grade crossing access and baggage cart operations. Contractor shall not store any materials nor park any equipment closer 25’ from the centerline of nearest track, unless directed by Railroad’s representative (project Manager) Project Objective This project will Provide weather protection -for Material Displaced by ELT – (Executive Leadership Team) requirement to vacate storage area under a freeway owned by Union Pacific. The work to be done by contactors is to provide California Fire Rated materials – to weather protect materials previously stored under the Union Pacific Leased property.
