California Public Contract Code section 20111.5 permits a school district governing board to require that each prospective bidder be prequalified before bidding on a public project let by the school district. The St. Helena Unified School District has determined that the following prime contractors and mechanical, electrical, plumbing (“M/E/P”) and fire sprinkler subcontractors be prequalified, before bidding on any public projects let by school districts, including all LeaseLeaseback and Design Build projects: • Prime contractors (A and B) • M/E/P subcontractors: C-4, C-7, C-10, C- 16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and C-46. All general contractors and M/E/P subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to California Labor Code section 1725.5 before submitting a bid or being listed as a subcontractor on a bid for a public works project.
