• Build Community Trust and Relationships • Identify key community organizations and members to connect with, with a focus on communities most impacted and communities who have been underserved. • Leverage existing community relationships to act as trusted community liaison between the City and community. • Translation and interpretation services for events (in-person and virtual) and written materials. • Education • Develop and/or distribute project-specific outreach and educational materials. • Develop and/or contribute to project webpage (if needed). • Background / Technical Research • Support and/or conduct research needed to inform the potential plan/project/program/policy (e.g. who are the communities most impacted, what are potential impacts, etc.) • Equity-Focused Community Engagement • Develop project-specific equity goals in partnership with communities who have been marginalized to highlight the priorities and standards that must be met by the process and project. • Conduct research to determine which communities are most impacted or will experience greater impacts. • Implement community engagement strategy outreach efforts in partnership with community. • Conduct targeted meetings (e.g. one-on-one meetings, small groups) with local community-based organizations and/or individuals representing communities who have been marginalized. • Conduct interactive outreach efforts such as surveys, polling, mapping exercises. • Lead, facilitate, and/or attend meetings/workshops. • Attend and/or facilitate at public forums, Commissions, Committees, and/or City Council meetings. • Have multiple touchpoints with community throughout the engagement process to ensure that products/reports/policies accurately and meaningfully capture community priorities.
