Provide various services to preserve, protect, and enhance the City’s overall tree canopy. The main tasks include: • Consultation on tree trimming and routine maintenance recommendations for staff • Input and advice for the development of the Urban Forest Master Plan • Replanting of trees on City-owned parcels and rights-of-way • Assistance with volunteer planting events • Review of development applications and environmental documents • Recommendations regarding tree removal applications and landscaping proposals based on City ordinances, General Plan policies, and best management practices • Assist and advise the City on landscape plans as needed. • Attending public hearings when necessary • Providing general on-call arborist consulting services to City staff • Conduct inspections and site visits for review of existing trees.
