Specifications include, but are not limited to: Phase 1: Campus Telecom Infrastructure This phase provides a new campus telecom infrastructure to support the deployment of wireless internet access throughout the project area. Bidder to design and install the following major systems: • Underground pathway system between buildings to support telecom enclosures • Telecom enclosures installed in locations that allow for access points that are installed throughout every building (phase2) to be reached by standards compliant cat6A ethernet connections. • Dedicated 120V circuits to be provided at each telecom enclosure to support Phase 2 provided UPS equipment. • Fiber optic backbone system, and Cat6A horizontal cabling system installed throughout campus in support of ubiquitous wifi coverage • Final locations and quantities of Cat6A to support wifi devices to be coordinated with awarded Phase 2: Network Deployment and Support contractor. • Phase 1 work is subject to State Prevailing Wage requirements Telecom Design Stage: As part of proposal response provide a schematic design detailing the specification and installation of the following items installed in this phase: 1. Overview of site buildings, structures, and floors. 2. Proposed locations of Telecom Enclosures supporting Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) and Main Distribution Frame (MDF) functions 3. Proposed conduit and fiber backbone design to interconnect Telecom Enclosures installed with this contract phase. 4. Proposed locations for Wireless Access Points (WAPs) shall be clearly visible on the schematic design. 5. Bidders of this phase agree to coordinate final locations and quantities of Wireless Access Points with the awarded Phase 2: Network Deployment and Support contractor. 6. Phase1 and Phase2 contractors are responsible to coordinate final locations and quantities of wireless access points to achieve project performance standards. 7. Provide submittal package to project owner with all materials to be utilized in project clearly specified.
