LASAN seeks a qualified Consultant team to provide technical expertise and guidance in planning, modeling, engineering, operations improvements, data collection, and analysis related to odor assessment and modeling. This work shall include, but is not limited to: field reconnaissance of existing conditions, traffic control to safely access the system for monitoring and sampling, data analysis, and implementation of the collected data into the model, calibration, and validation through a pilot test. The qualified Consultant shall also provide modeling support services and training to further expand the City’s modeling capabilities. H2S modeling is crucial to understanding the biological processes that lead to generation, transport, and release of H2S gas into the sewer atmosphere and, consequently, ventilated into the atmosphere. Additionally, it can provide a framework for a corrosion risk assessment to predict areas in the Collection System prone to excess Sulfuric acid that lead to corrosion of the pipe. Lastly, the model can also support odor control mitigation and planning such as for the design of future air treatment infrastructure.
