1. The Crash Cushion/Attenuator (CC/A) must be listed on the California Department of Transportation “Authorized Materials List for Highway Safety Features” under Permanent Crash Cushions. a. This list can be found here. Please only refer to the section under Permanent Crash Cushions: https://dot.ca.gov/-/media/dot-media/programs/engineering/documents/mets/highway-safety-featuresa11y.pdf 2. The CC/A must have a MASH safety rating of TL-3. 3. The CC/A must be non-gating and redirective. 4. The CC/A must be longitudinal and bi-directional. 5. The CC/A must have metal side panels, and black and yellow chevrons on the ends that face oncoming traffic. 6. The CC/A must be self-supporting and not require additional support structures. 7. The CC/A must be able to be secured to existing concrete surface, using the included anchor bolts. 8. The CC/A must be able to be reset by city staff after impact, and include the necessary tools. Sacrificial elements may be needed in the reset process. 9. The CC/A must have dimensions within the following ranges: a. Length: 21' to 22' b. Width: 2' to 3' 6" c. Height: 2' 6" to 3' Installation of the CC/A will be performed by DPW staff. No services will be provided by bidder.
