Oxnard School District is seeking proposals from qualified organizations, agencies, or individuals to develop and implement a Nutrition Education Program that supports student engagement in school meal programs, increases awareness of nutrition and healthy eating habits, and promotes understanding of the district’s Farm to School initiatives. The program should be age-appropriate, culturally relevant, and aligned with national and state educational and nutrition standards. 2. Program Goals The Nutrition Education Program must address the following objectives: ? School Meal Engagement: Educate students about the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program, promoting participation and engagement with the school cafeteria. ? Nutritional knowledge: Teach students fundamental concepts of healthy eating, including food groups, balanced meals, and lifelong wellness habits. ? Farm to School Education: Provide engaging content about the district’s Farm to School initiatives, including the benefits of seasonal, locally grown fruits and vegetables. ? School Gardens: Engage students in their school garden as a living classroom to learn how their food grows.
