The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to survey vendors who supply equipment, software, and support for implementation of Neurofeedback therapy to be used by LACDMH directly operated child and youth clinicians who have been trained in the Othmer Method. Neurofeedback therapy is a type of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) that uses electronic devices to help people with self-regulation and self-control. Neurofeedback is often used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, depression, and pain. It can also help people with trauma recovery from their experiences. Neurofeedback uses infra-low frequency (ILF) technology to offer immediate feedback to the user. Through this RFI, LACDMH is seeking information regarding Infra-Low Frequency (ILF) neurofeedback equipment and software designed to reduce symptoms and improve access to neurofeedback therapy for children and Transitional Age Youth (TAY), receiving specialty mental health services in LACDMH directly operated Children/TAY Programs/clinics.
