The City of San Buenaventura (Ventura) is soliciting proposals from qualified firms or consultant teams to develop a new Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program (NTCP). The goal of this effort is to create a comprehensive, transparent, and data-driven program that responds equitably and effectively to residents’ concerns about traffic safety on Ventura’s roads and in its neighborhoods. Unlike traditional traffic calming programs that focus solely on physical speed and volume reduction measures, Ventura’s NTCP will address a broader range of resident-submitted requests, including: • New intersection controls (e.g., stop signs or yield signs) • New or improved pedestrian crossings • Radar speed feedback signs • Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) • Traditional traffic calming treatments such as speed humps, curb extensions, and traffic circles
