Specifications include, but are not limited to: The main objective of this project is to demonstrate how native plants can be utilized to increase biodiversity, create quality habitats, increase soil health, and the benefits of irrigation efficiency. The project aims to create a learning landscape to educate park users and property owners how native plants should be planted, cared for, maintained and irrigated. Additional benefits include incorporating native plants for pollination and habitat creation and to showcase the beauty and practicality of native flora. It is also intended to provide City staff and contractors with the opportunity to learn about the care and maintenance of parks planted with native plants on a small scale. The City of Encinitas is inviting proposals from qualified professional service firms for professional and technical landscape architectural design services for a native landscape demonstration garden. The City desires to engage one or more firms to provide professional and technical landscape architectural design services for a native landscape demonstration garden.
