SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS/REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
Edwards AFB, AFTC is seeking sources capable of supplying Mobile Ballistic Shields.
The following salient characteristics are as follows:
- All pieces to the equipment must be Black in color.
- Must be 36” x 46” x 77” in size.
- Must be a minimum of National Institute of Justice Level III ballistics certified and meet the Department of State Standard 01.01.
- Must incorporate a clear, transparent viewing panel to provide an unobstructed view of approaching traffic.
- Must be easily maneuverable by a single guard.
- Must have the capability to house an infrared heater rated for outdoor usage.
- The awning for the mobile ballistic shields must be a minimum 36” x 52” to cover the guard from inclement weather.
- The mobile ballistic shield must be fully assembled upon delivery.

NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO THIS SYNOPSIS OR ANY FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION REQUESTS. THE PURPOSE OF THIS SYNOPSIS IS TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF POTENTIALLY QUALIFIED SOURCES AND THEIR SIZE CLASSIFICATIONS (SMALL BUSINESS, LARGE BUSINESS, ETC.). PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF A SOLICITATION, AS ONE DOES NOT EXIST.
1. Purpose.
This is a Sources Sought Synopsis in support of Market Research being conducted by the United States Air Force to identify potential sources able to provide this system components.
2. Information requested.
The Government requests interested offerors that can fully support this requirement, furnish the following information:
- Company name, address, points of contact, phone numbers and e-mail addresses.
- Commercial catalogs or price lists along with literature showing how your product meets the requirement.
- Identification of business size (small or large) and identify the socioeconomic disadvantaged category, as defined by the Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 19 and currently listed in the System for Award Management (SAM). Small business size standards are published by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and may be found at Table of size standards | U.S. Small Business Administration (sba.gov). The potential North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes assigned to this procurement is, 332999 “All Other Miscellaneous Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing.” The Small Business Size Standard is 750 employees.
