The Project includes various safety and sidewalk improvements within existing City right-of-way (where possible) near Mira Loma Middle School and Van Buren Elementary School where none currently exist. The Project is made possible through the award of state-funded Active Transportation Program (ATP) grant. The street section will be constructed with asphalt pavement typically widened about 4’ to achieve a total of 18’ from street centerline to proposed curb face, concrete curb and gutter, and a 5.5-foot-wide concrete sidewalk. Improvements will also include drive approaches, accessible curb ramps conforming to current ADA standards, street signing and striping, actuated pedestrian solar flashing beacons for multiple crosswalk locations, and construction of DG trails and trail fencing. All work shall be performed in accordance with the Bid Documents (including, but not limited to the Special Provisions, and Plans), the Standard Plans, the Standard Specifications, Reference Specifications, and other Contract documents on file with the City of Jurupa Valley, California.
