2.1 INTENT The University of California, Merced (UC Merced) shall select, through a competitive process, a qualified company to fabricate and deliver interior and exterior signage for the Medical Education Building located on UC Merced Campus, 5200 N. Lake Road, Merced, CA. The awarded supplier shall be responsible only for fabrication and delivery of signage materials as specified. Installation will be performed by UC Merced. 2.2 SCOPE OF SERVICES The University of California, Merced (UC Merced) invites proposals from qualified companies to provide fabrication and delivery of all signage for the Medical Education Building (MEB). The scope of work includes the following: A. Interior braille signage B. Code required signage C. Interior and exterior wayfinding signage D. Parking lot signage E. Wall-mounted LEED display sign Exclusions: Electrified signs including type AA2 (primary monument), AA3 (secondary monument), and AA9 (orientation kiosk). 2.3 SERVICE REQUIREMENTS AND SCHEDULES: A. Signage Specification 1. Braille Signage a. Exterior signage shall be ¼” thick exterior grade photopolymer with 1/32” tactile copy and California grade 2 braille. b. Mounting shall be weatherproof with four (4) #8 Torx tamperproof hardware (pin Torx driver bit) except at glass mounted locations. c. Font and color of sign shall match the sign type as outlined in Attachment A – UCM_Signage_Drawings. d. All glass mounted sign locations shall include vinyl backers.
