The desired MCM service provider should demonstrate the ability to incorporate Workers’ Compensation best practices in MCM. Best practices shall include the ability to provide the following: • Customize MCM workflows to requirements of the city. • Assign experienced MCM, preferably with public sector/safety personnel experience. • MCM to work hand in hand with treating physicians to facilitate medical treatment and safe return to work for City of Long Beach injured workers. • Authorize medical treatment based on City of Long Beach medical treatment guidelines. • Channel to preferred providers within the City Medical Provider Network (MPN). • Channel preferred ancillary, transportation, and language services. • Submit account updates, reports, and invoices at agreed upon intervals. • Utilize a secure network to transmit updates, medical records, reports, invoices, and all related case records to the city. • Submit cost savings reports with all closed cases. • Submit monthly reports outlining all open and closed cases with length of time open to date and associated costs.
