Specifications include, but are not limited to: The District is in need of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, collectively referred as “MEP”, on-call engineering services for a variety of projects ranging from new construction, alterations, improvements, renovations, tenant improvements, engineering studies, independent engineering audits, energy/sustainability assessment and studies, and engineering forensics. The District has a large diversity of projects ranging from maintenance projects, capital outlay projects, federally-funded grant projects, local and statewide bond projects, energy projects, and facility modification requests.; Mechanical: HVAC upgrades/replacements, air distribution assessments, VAV upgrades/replacements, central plant cooling analysis, thermal energy storage analysis, lab exhaust fan systems, ventilation studies, temperature control and thermal comfort studies, building automation, fire protection, air distributions studies, lab-tracking systems, fume hood exhaust systems, fire suppression, and fire sprinkler systems.; Electrical: Electrical power conditioners, quality of power assessments, generator design, computer UPS design, interior and exterior lighting, security system infrastructure design, telecommunication infrastructure, daylighting, interior/exterior lighting solutions, fire alarm systems, interior/exterior photometric analysis, electrical service one-line diagrams, metering analysis and load verification/studies, building automation system analysis for building comfort and efficiency, equipment assessments and replacement recommendations, low voltage technologies, and electric vehicle electrification.; Plumbing: Commercial domestic water and hot water systems, central chiller plant design, electrical heating studies, storm water systems, storm water pre-treatment systems, deionized water systems, commercial plumbing systems , compressed air equipment and pipe design, natural gas piping, vacuum systems, boiler systems, plumbing fixtures replacements and upgrades, fire water infrastructure, waste and vent systems, acid neutralizing pre-treatment systems, sump pump and sewage ejector lift stations, and grease waste systems, capacity or fixture count studies, and natural gas requirements.; Specialty Services: Energy/sustainability design, natural gas conversation to electrical heating, utility analysis, equipment lifecycle cost analysis, energy modeling, and other specialty MEP engineering services as needed by the District.
