Contractor shall provide qualified trainers to deliver in-person training. Training courses shall provide mechanic and other Caltrans personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize, prevent, document, troubleshoot, and repair state owned equipment and fleet vehicles per Federal and State mandated inspection procedures. Training courses include: A. Air Brake Systems and Basic Inspection of Terminals (BIT) This course shall be a two (2) day course designed for maintenance personnel, operators, and others who have basic familiarity with air brake systems. This course shall cover the fundamentals of Bendix, Haldex, and Meritor-Wabco air brake systems. Upon completion of this course, technicians shall have the ability to troubleshoot, inspect, and repair most air brake systems. Components that shall be reviewed for the air brake systems training are: compressors, governors, reservoirs, drain valves, safety valves, limiting and quick release valves, check valves, spring brake relay control valves, relay valves, relay emergency valves, treadle valves, actuators (with and without spring brakes), slack adjusters, foundation brakes, trailer valves, and anti-compounding.
