Specifications include, but are not limited to: The following services will be expected of the Security Guard on duty: 1. Open security gate to park-and-ride lot at 5:00 a.m. and close the same at 8:00 p.m. 2. If security services are needed on holidays, the security guards will receive overtime (holiday) pay based on the City of Montebellos observed holidays established by City Council. For 2013 the anticipated holidays will be January 1 New Years Day, January 14 Martin Luther King Jr. Day, February 18 Presidents Day, May 27 Memorial Day, July 4 Independence Day, September 2 Labor Day, October 14 Columbus Day, November 11 Veterans Day, November 28/29 Thanksgiving Day and day after, December 24/25 Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. A yearly holiday list will be provided to the contractor by Montebello Bus Lines once approved by City Council. 3. Patrol the station (including platforms), transit center, and park-and-ride lot on a continuous basis. 4. Be present on the platform prior to the arrival of each Metrolink Train until the departure of the train. 5. Warn people about crossing the tracks except at designated crosswalks at the ends of the platforms. 6. Provide assistance to passengers when requested. 7. Collect passenger boarding/alighting data when required. 8. Provide monthly summary reports of Metrolink daily activity no later than five working day following the end of the month. 9. Provide daily activity reports, logs, or any other reports when required. 10. Though the Security Guard is unarmed and does not have arrest or law enforcement powers, the Security Guard is expected to observe any criminal activity, fire, threat to property or person, problem, unusual incident or hazardous condition at the Metrolink Station or Transit Center and has authority to promptly report and take appropriate action, and if necessary, notify the Montebello Police Department or other emergency personnel immediately. 11. The Security Guard will notify the Montebello Dispatch Center at 323-558-1625 Ext 210 whenever the Montebello Police Department or any other emergency personnel has been called for assistance. 12. The Security Guard will notify the Montebello Dispatch Center of general incidents and observances, which may require safety, corrective or emergency maintenance. For example, power failure, burst water pipes, or tree damage must be immediately reported to the Montebello Dispatch Center.
