Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. Media concerns: 1) Participate in live shots, secure talent for media interviews, pitch stories, and work with vendors, entertainment, carnival providers and food concessionaires to provide “Fair Experiences” to media. 2) Respond to matters of media interest with the appropriate public relations strategy, which may include scheduling a press conference or developing a press release, media advisory or public statement. 3) Serve as one of several spokespersons for media inquiries. 4) Monitor media coverage. 5) Develop relationships with media. 6) Assist with the production of new media stories including writing, blogging and graphic design. 7) Coordinate and assist with photography and video needs, including editing and voice over. 8) Manage media schedule and set-up. b. Social media and administrative concerns: 1) Manage social media channels and social engagement. Update media database, write press releases/media advisories regarding ticket sales, featured exhibits, entertainment, competitive programs and other special attractions at the Fair including announcing the final results of the fair, closing the Media Center operations, compile all final documents and organize files for future years. 2) Write and edit marketing materials and Fair publications such as monorail script, promotional brochures, flyers and web blogs. 3) Compile, organize and prioritize materials for inclusion in the annual Fair’s media kit. 4) Responsible for writing and distribution of internal and external newsletter. 5) Ensure all distributed materials are organized and saved electronically. 6) Log and distribute media credentials.
