Specifications include, but are not limited to: To reach the goal of sufficient broadband access for enhanced K-12 learning and improved school operations, SAUSD is requesting the following Internet Service Provider (ISP) requirements such that the school district can meet targets specific to connectivity and support. The intent is to achieve an industry-standard based infrastructure, which will enhance educational and administrative activities at all sites with the flexibility and support for future needs and activities. The Managed Internet Service will provide Internet services that combine a highspeed, dedicated connection with consolidated application management. It is expected that the service provider will deliver any required equipment, configure and install the equipment at SAUSD’s location, and maintain the District’s Internet service end to end. 1. The solution should include an Ethernet transport solution to deliver from 20 to 40 Gbps during the term of the contract. 2. If multiple interfaces to the same termination point, service provider must be able to allow interface bonding or bundling of multiple interfaces into one virtual interface without the need for route load balancing or internal dynamic routing. 3. The service provider should provide a description of the provider’s network and capacity to deliver the service. 4. The service request is for a 40 Gbps Internet Bandwidth starting with a Committed Information Rate of 20 Gbps. The solution should allow the district to scale in 5 Gbps increments. 5. The provider should be a Tier One provider or a high capacity/quality Tier 2 provider. If Tier 2/Blended Internet Service is proposed, the response should include the upstream Internet access providers used with the service. 6. The service provider’s transport network from the port to the provider backbone Internet connection(s) should provide a Committed Information Rate (CIR) on the transport network for the contracted bandwidth, non-oversubscribed and dedicated to SAUSD.
